Marlene K. Josephs is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 32533), board certified Biofeedback clinician (B 907), and trained EMDR practitioner. She has over 30 years of experience in cognitive and behavioral counseling.
Marlene received her M.A. in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling in 1989 at Phillips Graduate Institute, becoming licensed in 1995. She completed a Drug & Alcohol Studies program at UCLA in 1989 and went on to design, implement and administer Chemical Dependency and Dual Diagnosis (substance addiction with a co-occurring psychiatric disorder) recovery programs for major Los Angeles area hospitals and clinics. In addition, she has worked in Weight Management, Smoking Cessation and Alcohol Detox programs at the forefront of recovery medicine in Northern California.
Marlene became certified in biofeedback by the Biofeedback Society of California (BSC) in 1980 and has retained membership. In 1981, she was certified by the Biofeedback Institute of America (BCIA) and is currently a Senior Fellow. She is also a member of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) and is active in the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
She has been a frequent lecturer on Stress Management, Pain Management and Dual Diagnosis on a variety of campuses and in the community.
Marlene combines her strong clinical background with warmth, support, a sense of humor and therapeutic personality creating both a highly professional and personal experience for her clients.
